Hyderabad’s transformation into India’s premier tech powerhouse just hit another major milestone.
In a massive win for the state’s digital ecosystem, TMUS Global Solutions—the international arm of US telecommunications giant T-Mobile—officially launched its state-of-the-art Global Technology Centre in the heart of HITEC City.
Spanning an impressive 2.5 lakh square feet, the world-class facility was inaugurated in a high-profile event attended by Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu and IT Advisor Sai Krishna. The launch marks T-Mobile’s first major tech footprint expansion outside the United States, positioning Hyderabad at the center of its global growth strategy.
A 24/7 Engine for Next-Gen Innovation
This new facility isn’t just a satellite office; it is designed to operate as a high-value strategic hub within T-Mobile’s international network. According to company leadership, the center is purpose-built to accelerate an “engineering-led IT transformation” and support the company’s digital “Un-carrier” future.
The center will house elite teams working on cutting-edge, business-critical domains, including:
-
Core Engineering: Advanced software engineering, DevOps, platform operations, and product development.
-
Data & Security: High-level data analytics and robust cybersecurity frameworks.
-
Future Tech: Cloud computing, artificial intelligence, automation, and full-scale enterprise digital transformation.
By embedding these capabilities in Hyderabad, T-Mobile aims to build scalable tech solutions that will directly impact customer experiences and operational efficiency across its massive global user base.
Hyderabad’s GCC Ecosystem: Validation at Scale
Speaking at the inauguration, Minister D. Sridhar Babu emphasized that T-Mobile’s arrival is a massive validation of the state’s conscious efforts to cultivate elite tech talent.
“When they committed to building from Hyderabad, we promised them access to the best technology talent in the country,” the Minister noted. “Today, seeing them onboard hundreds of skilled professionals and establish one of their fastest-growing centres in such a short span is a strong validation of Hyderabad’s ability to deliver world-class talent at scale.”
The Minister highlighted that Telangana has spent years intentionally constructing a diverse, high-value Global Capability Centre (GCC) ecosystem. Today, local engineers in the city aren’t just handling back-office tasks—they are solving complex structural problems for Fortune 500 companies across telecom, AI, life sciences, semiconductors, and fintech.
With this launch, T-Mobile joins a thriving local landscape that currently boasts over 450 GCCs and employs more than three lakh professionals.
Looking Ahead: 1,000 Jobs by 2027
The opening of the HITEC City facility is only the opening chapter of T-Mobile’s India story. Company officials, including Chandra Gupta, Vice President of IT Operations for TMUS Global Solutions India, revealed aggressive roadmaps for the facility.
The company has already rapidly onboarded more than 500 professionals and intends to expand its local workforce to nearly 1,000 employees by 2027.
“Our global technology centre in Hyderabad will play an important role in strengthening our engineering and digital capabilities,” Gupta stated, noting that the city’s rich talent pool and innovation-driven environment perfectly align with T-Mobile’s ambitious, long-term corporate goals.
As global tech giants continue to look past traditional outsourcing in favor of deep, integrated innovation hubs, Hyderabad continues to prove that it isn’t just participating in the global tech race—it is setting the pace.
