If you have driven through the Kondapur Main Road corridor during peak hours, you already know the drill: bumper-to-bumper traffic, endless honking, and travel speeds that could make a snail look fast. But relief is finally on the horizon for Hyderabad’s daily commuters.
Following the recent stone-laying ceremony for the massive Miyapur–Allwyn Junction bi-directional flyover, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) Commissioner Dr. G. Srijana, alongside Serilingampally MLA Arekapudi Gandhi, conducted a high-level site inspection at Anjaiah Nagar in Kondapur to ensure the project stays on the fast track.
Clearing the Bottlenecks: The Miyapur–Allwyn Flyover
The cornerstone of this massive infrastructure upgrade is a 1.79-kilometer bi-directional flyover designed to bypass the chronic bottlenecks between Miyapur Cross Roads and Allwyn Cross Roads.
Part of the wider Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure (H-CITI) project, this ₹530-crore initiative is a direct answer to the tech corridor’s exploding vehicular volume. The layout features:
-
A 6-lane flyover to seamlessly bridge Miyapur and Allwyn Junctions.
-
A 3-lane unidirectional underpass stretching 633 meters from Hafeezpet to Miyapur.
-
A second 3-lane underpass measuring 825 meters from Bachupally toward Allwyn.
On-Ground Reality: Fast-Tracking Land Acquisition
An infrastructure project is only as fast as its land clearance. Recognizing this, Commissioner G. Srijana met with senior officials from the Town Planning wing directly at the project site.
During the inspection, the Commissioner reviewed the pending land chunks required for the road layout and issued strict directives to expedite the land acquisition process without delay. By clearing these legal and logistical hurdles immediately, the civic body aims to initiate extensive road widening works along the corridor as early as possible.
“The town planning department has been instructed to work in close coordination with all related wings. Our priority is avoiding project delays and ensuring that ground-level execution matches our deadlines.”
— Dr. G. Srijana, CMC Commissioner
What This Means for Hyderabad Commuters
Kondapur Main Road is a vital nerve center connecting residential zones to the heart of the Hitec City and Gachibowli IT hubs. Once the Town Planning team completes the widening and the H-CITI project takes physical shape, commuters can look forward to:
-
Drastically Reduced Congestion: Major intersections will be transformed, separating local traffic from transit vehicles.
-
Faster Commute Times: The grade separators mean a significant boost to average peak-hour speeds.
-
Enhanced Pedestrian and Commuter Safety: Organized lane management will streamline vehicle movement, making the chaotic corridor much safer for everyone.
With the leadership actively pushing paperwork through and hitting the ground for physical inspections, the blueprint for a hassle-free drive through western Hyderabad is quickly becoming a reality. Stay tuned to HyderabadStories as we follow the progress of the H-CITI rollout!
