Dr. Rajiv Sharma

Dr Rajiv Sharma joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1982 and had the distinction of being the first Chief Secretary of the newly formed state of Telangana in June 2014.

After his superannuation he was appointed Chief Advisor to the Government of Telangana in December 2016, and also chaired the Telangana State Pollution Control Board, until the appointments were rescinded in December 2023. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from IIT Roorkee, a law degree from Osmania University, an MA in Rural Development from the University of East Anglia, and a PhD in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University.
