WHY WE EXIST

A city is a story that
never stops being written.

Hyderabad has 1.2 crore authors, and for 435 years, everyone else has been writing its story for it. Headlines from elsewhere. Rankings from elsewhere. Algorithms from elsewhere. We built Hyderabad Stories so the city could hold the pen.

SCROLL: 7 CHAPTERS

Four centuries, one table — from the Charminar to Cyber Towers.

01

The internet knows everything, except your city.

Search for Hyderabad and you get everyone’s Hyderabad but yours: a tourism brochure, a traffic complaint, a decade-old listicle, a rumour forwarded eleven times. The city that was founded around the Charminar in 1591, makes a large share of India’s medicines, and has sent a privately built rocket to orbit has no single place where it simply knows itself.

News about the city is written for clicks, not for citizens. What you consume is what you become, and we refuse to let Hyderabad become clickbait.

THE OLD WAY
Scattered. Negative. Anonymous. Written about the city, from outside it.
OUR WAY
Connected. Verified. Signed. Written by the city, for the city.
02
THE MISSION

To bring Hyderabad together through beautiful stories and give a great city the digital identity it deserves.

Curate

One clutter-free stream: our own reporting, with other outlets’ coverage credited and linked rather than copied.

Create

Editorial exclusives and web stories the traditional media never covers, the untold city.

Connect

People to companies to places to decisions, one living knowledge graph of the city.

03

Principles we don’t bend

P·1The city before the click. No rage-bait, no manufactured outrage. If a story doesn’t make Hyderabad more knowable, it doesn’t run.
P·2Every claim has a spine.Name sources where we can, link the documents, and correct mistakes where they were made.
P·3Both cities, always.Charminar and Cyberabad get the same care. A platform for the whole city or it isn’t a city platform.
P·4Ganga–Jamuni, by design. The city’s tehzeeb, many cultures, one table, is an editorial rule here, not a museum caption.
P·5Local before global. The lab technician in Bachupally matters more here than a headline from another hemisphere.
04

How a story reaches the page

What we aim for, and the steps every story goes through before it is published.

SOURCINGWe start from the recordHyderabad Stories draws on available reporting, public records, official sources and other relevant material. We aim to provide context and identify sources wherever possible.
ACCURACYReported is not the same as verifiedWe aim to verify factual claims using reliable sources, and to distinguish clearly between what has been reported and what has not been independently verified.
CONNECTEDLinked to the people and places in itStories link to the profiles of the people, companies and places they mention, so a reader can see the wider record — and where a profile's facts were last checked.
APPROVEDAn editor approves every publicationNothing reaches the site without an editor's approval, which is recorded. If something we publish is wrong, tell us and we will correct it.
05

Why you can trust a Top 10 here

01Editors choose, and say why. Every list is an editorial selection with a stated reason for each entry — not a score, and not a public vote.
02Archive lists keep their word. Lists from our earlier site keep the order and text they were published with, dated and labelled as not re-verified.
03Some things are never ranked. Doctors, advocates, hospitals and law firms, and government bodies — the rule is enforced in code, not left to discretion.
WHAT WE NEVER DOPaid placements in rankings. Ever. A sponsored slot is labelled sponsored, outside the list, or it doesn’t exist.
06
WHERE THIS GOES

From a media platform to the operating system of the city.

Stories, people, companies, places, events, projects and rankings, interconnected in one City Knowledge Graph. Ask the city anything; the graph answers. Then: localized communities, one lakh digitized local businesses, and the model every city in the world copies.

Stop marketing.
Start storytelling.

Storytelling is our obligation to the next generation. This platform is how one city keeps that promise.
